24 TOP TAGUIG COOPS GET AWARD, ASSISTANCE FROM MAYOR LANI
Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano on Tuesday cited the accomplishments of 24 outstanding cooperatives in Taguig by awarding them with certificates of appreciation and financial assistance.
According to Mayor Lani, the awards were given to the selected cooperatives in recognition of their notable contributions to the city government’s effort in creating livelihood opportunities for Taguigenos, as well as their important role in nation-building.
The awarding rites held at the City Hall Auditorium is part of the weeklong Taguig Livelihood and Career Expo 2012 with the theme: “Sa Kooperatiba, Buhay ay Giginhawa: Parangal para sa Pinakamahusay na Kooperatiba sa Taguig.”
The expo is one of the various activities lined up in celebration of Taguig’s 425th founding anniversary.
Among those who assisted Mayor Lani in the awarding of certificates and P30,000 financial assistance to each of the winning cooperatives were Councilors Jojo Eron and Jimmy Labampa, Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) National Capital Region extension office Director Salvador Valeroso, and manager Ariel Castor of Landbank Taguig City Hall branch.
“(Sa araw na ito) kinikilala natin ang isa sa napakatibay na sektor ng ating pamayanan at ito ay ang mga kooperatiba. Kaya tanggapin ninyo po sa araw na ito ang pinakamataas kong pagpupugay. Mabuhay kayong lahat at maraming salamat po,” Mayor Lani said in her speech.
Mayor Lani reiterated her assurance to 96 active cooperative organizations in Taguig that the city government, under her leadership, will continue supporting all their projects and programs that genuinely uplift the welfare of their members.
“Umasa po kayo na ang ating lokal na pamahalaan sa ilalim ng aking pamumuno ay patuloy na susuporta sa mga mahahalagang adhikain ng mga kooperatiba sa ating lungsod,” she stressed.
