24/7 nebulizing stations now open in Taguig
Starting today, two nebulizing stations will begin operations 24 hours a day, seven days a week in Taguig to provide medical services to asthma patients all over the city.
“Medical emergencies may come at inopportune times. This is why we do our best to provide our constituents with the best medical services given the resources available to us,” Mayor Lani Cayetano said.
The opening of the 24/7 nebulizing stations follows the earlier announcement by the local government of the inauguration of the third Super Health Center in Central Bicutan, which will also be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
“This is again part of the city government’s effort to bring medical services closer to the people at any time of any day,” Mayor Lani expressed.
The nebulizing stations are located in Barangays Bagumbayan (District 1) and Western Bicutan (District 2) and will be placed in the residences of trained Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) for better accessibility to anyone and anytime.
Dr. Isaias Ramos, officer-in-charge of the City Health Office (CHO), said these stations were placed in strategic places since these barangays have the most numbers of asthma cases as per the surveys conducted by the Taguig City Integrated Survey System (TCISS).
“The main concern here is access, the access of the people to the services so we looked for places where the service is most needed,” Dr. Ramos said.
Also, the two stations are open for 24 hours since asthma attacks can happen anytime of the day or night, she added.
Dr. Ramos said the use of the nebulizer will be free of charge.
More of these kinds of stations, he said, are being eyed in more barangays all over Taguig City.
Earlier, the city announced the launch of a third Super Health Center located in Central Bicutan and will soon be operational. Two other health centers of this kind will be opening in Barangays Ligid-Tipas and North Signal.
These health centers are a centerpiece of the health programs of Mayor Lani’s administration and were constructed in order to decongest the number of patients at the Taguig-Pateros District Hospital (TPDH), aside from making health services more accessible to the public.
“This is proof of our local government’s efforts to make the public healthcare system more accessible to our constituents. Health is one of our priorities and it cannot be compromised,” Mayor Lani said. ###
FILIPINO VERSION:
