70th Celebration of the Liberation of Taguig

A tribute to Taguig’s freedom fighters

Mayor Lani Cayetano led the wreath laying activity at the 70th Celebration of the Liberation of Taguig, during the Flagraising Ceremony hosted by the Veterans Affairs Office held last February 23 at the Taguig City Hall Grounds.

The activity is to commemorate the heroism of the soldiers that defended the freedom of Taguig during World War II.

Also, Mayor Lani Cayetano together with Vice Mayor Ricardo “Ading” Cruz Jr. announced the passing of the city ordinance that will increase the benefits that city veterans will be receiving.

Mayor Lani encouraged participants to reflect on the veterans heroism during World War II.

Veteran Officials also took their Oath of Office during the event.

In attendance were Colonel Bonifacio De Gracia, Executive Vice President of the Veterans Federation of the Philippines, together with Officials from the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office, and Taguig City Councilors.
