7th ManilArt int’l art exhibit in SM Aura
It’s Art Appreciation 101 for 600 Taguig students
More than 600 students from different public schools in Taguig were given a rare opportunity to participate in an art appreciation tour during a three-day international art exhibit at the SMX Convention Center in SM Aura, Bonifacio Global City in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
Dubbed as the single most important international venue for the exhibition and promotion of Philippine contemporary art, ManilArt runs from October 8 to 11 and will also showcase the largest and most comprehensive visual art galleries of participants from Malaysia, Singapore and France.
Mayor Lani Cayetano said the City of Taguig is very grateful to be the venue of the ManilArt exhibit, which is now on its seventh year of promoting the artworks of talented artists from different parts of the globe.
ManilArt, co-presented jointly by the Bonafide Art Galleries Organization (BAGO) and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), will be showcasing masterpieces of figurative, abstract, kinetic and conceptual arts, as well as other contemporary movements with thoughtful and sometimes provoking points of view.
“The art fair is truly a celebration of talents from the artists whose works will somehow inspire young minds and maybe bring out the artists in them. I hope our students learned a lot from this rare exposure to both local and international art,” Mayor Lani said.
This year’s ManilArt hosted a reception for the Philippine delegation to the 2015 Venice Biennale.
