Taguig launches Emergency Medical Services hotlines
Doctors on-call all-day and all-night, seven days a week.
Mayor Lani Cayetano has made this available to Taguig residents as the city recently launched its Doctor On Call (DOC) project which aims to provide quick medical services to its constituents 24/7.
“We already have our 24/7 Super Health Centers, free vaccinations and maintenance medicines among many of our health services.
“DOC is another step to further improve the health services and benefits that we can and will provide for our people,” Mayor Lani said.
The DOC project, which is a pioneer in Taguig, is designed to quickly respond – within 10 to 15 minutes – to calls or texts for medical help and provide immediate medical assistance to residents in need of it.
To call for medical assistance, the city health office created hotline numbers: (02) 225-1833 and 0917-821-0896.
The project was launched yesterday, May 5, at Lower Bicutan Health Center.
According to Mayor Lani, the DOC would initially be implemented in Old Lower Bicutan and would soon be replicated in other parts of the city.
The DOC team is composed of doctors, registered nurses, an ambulance equipped with necessary medical equipment to respond to health-related cases.
The DOC team will provide basic medical services. Patients with complicated conditions who will need extensive medical attention will be brought to and treated at the Taguig-Pateros District Hospital (TPDH).
Mayor Lani said through the DOC project, she wanted Taguigeños to have access to trained and responsive medical team who could prevent further complications during emergencies. ###
