Kids International Dental Services (KIDS) at EM’s Signal Village Elementary School
Volunteers from Kids International Dental Services (KIDS), in partnership with the Taguig City Medical Assistance Office, held a Dental Mission last February 16 at EM’s Signal Village Elementary School.
Kids International Dental Services (KIDS) is a non-profit, volunteer organization that was founded in 2009. KIDS is an ever-expanding organization of dentists, students, and various professionals working toward improving the oral health of impoverished children worldwide.
KIDS strives to provide pro-bono dental care to impoverished children in developing countries, providing a platform for young dental professionals to perform community service worldwide.
During the event, a number of 300 students were given free fluoride treatment, tooth extraction, and oral checkups.
They were also educated in the importance of proper dental care like the regular brushing of teeth to prevent cavities.
The program is part of the National Dental Health Month Celebration which aims to strengthen public awareness on the importance of practicing proper oral health care. It encourages dentists, students, relevant government agencies, and professional organizations to reach out to more people with no access to dental services, especially those living in the countryside.
Mayor Lani Cayetano graced the event to welcome the volunteer organization.
