Taguig Covid-19 update

CASE UPDATE:
- As of today, March 11, 2020, Wednesday, 16 new COVID-19 cases in the country were confirmed by the Department of Health, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 49.
- Of these confirmed cases, 38 are in the National Capital Region.
- There are NO ADDITIONAL CONFIRMED COVID-19 CASES in TAGUIG CITY. The number of confirmed case in the City remains at 1 but the local government is closely monitoring Persons Under Investigation (PUI) and Persons Under Monitoring (PUM) and strictly enforces home quarantine. SANITATION AND DISINFECTING OPERATIONS:
- Taguig City continues its sanitation and disinfection operations around the City as it made rounds in public schools, churches and PUV terminals.
COORDINATION MEETINGS
- Taguig City Mayor Lino Cayetano has met with medical health workers and thanked them for their dedication to their work and assured them of the City’s continued support. Healthcare workers vowed of continuous government support.
- Taguig City also met with key stakeholders of Barangay Fort Bonifacio like Fort Bonifacio Development Corporation (FBDC), Bonifacio Estate Services Corp. (BESC), Ayala, SM, and Megaworld who all vowed to support the local government in moving forward to battle the spread of COVID-19 together and to keep the City and its citizens safe.
TPDH PARTNERING WITH ST. LUKES
- The local government through its Taguig-Pateros District Hospital is partnering with St. Lukes Medical Center – Global City for preparations. The city will also link with other private hospitals.
INFORMATION CAMPAIGN
- The LGU will roll out an intensified information campaign on how to protect ourselves from COVID-19 and properly report cases.
STOP SPREADING FAKE NEWS
-Fake news about COVID-19 in Taguig continue to circulate online. We once again appeal to everybody to avoid spreading fake or unverified news. - The local government will go after those spreading wrong information with the full force of the law as it hampers and impedes the city’s efforts to combat COVID-19 especially frontliners who are doing contact-tracing.
OTHER GUIDELINES
- Everyone is encouraged to limit movement in the city and cancel mass gatherings. Stay at home when possible.
- The local government is preparing to take extreme measures to curb the spread of the virus. It is also preparing contingency plans for community transmission.
- Expect and prepare for any escalation of cases but do not hoard masks and alcohol. Do not overstock so others who also need these supplies may also purchase the items.
- Prepare hygiene kits and food supplies just enough for your family.
- Practice social distancing. This involves distancing oneself, at least one meter, from other people, especially those who have cough and colds.
