Taguig City Opening of Classes

Pormal nang binuksan ang klase para sa S.Y. 2022-2023 sa Lungsod ng Taguig ngayong araw, ika-22 ng Agosto.

Naging maayos at matiwasay ang pagsalubong ng mga estudyante sa unang araw ng pasukan sa iba’t ibang paaralan sa lungsod na binisita rin ng ilan nating lingkod-bayan. Ang kaayusan sa unang araw ng pasukan ay dahil na rin sa masusing paghahanda ng mga paaralan katulong na ang pamahalaang lungsod.

Personal na binisita ni Mayor Lani Cayetano, DepEd TaPat Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Margarito Materum, School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD) Chief Danny Espelico, at Coun. Marisse Balina-Eron and mga mag-aaral sa Signal Village National High School.

Pinaalalahanan ni Mayor Lani ang mga guro at mga mag-aaral ng kahalagahan sa pagsunod ng  mga health protocols upang maiwasan ang pagkalat ng COVID-19.

Nagsagawa din ng classroom tour si Mayor Lani sa EM’s Signal Village Elementary School upang malaman ang kalagayan ng mga mag-aaral at mga guro sa paaralan.

Sa Western Bicutan National High School naman ang naging destinasyon nina Vice Mayor Arvin Ian Alit, Coun. Nicky Supan, at Coun. Ed Prado. Habang ang mga mag-aaral naman sa R.P. Cruz Elementary School naman ang sinalubong nina Taguig-Pateros Dist. 1 Rep. Ricardo “Ading” Cruz Jr., at Coun. Totong Mañosca.

Ang Kapt. Eddie T. Reyes Integrated School naman napili ni Taguig 2nd District Rep. pammy Zamora, Coun. Jomil Serna, Coun. Alex Penolio, at Coun. Edgar Baptista na bisitahin.

Pinuntahan din ni Coun. Carlito Ogalinola ang Bagumbayan National High School, habang sa Napindan Elementary School naman sinalubong ni Coun. Gammie San Pedro ang unang araw ng pasukan.

Isa pa sa mga paaralan na dinalaw ngayong araw ay ang Ususan Elementary School para kay  Coun. Tikboy Marcelino.

Bago pa man ang pasukan ay sinigurado na ng pamahalaang lungsod na magiging maayos at ligtas ang pagbabalik eskwela ngayong taon sa pagsasagawa ng iba’t-ibang programa katulad ng Brigada Eskwela at One-Stop Shop Bakuna para sa mga guro, non-teaching personnel at mga estudyante.

Patuloy namang bibigyang prayoridad ng lungsod ang pagbibigay ng dekalidad na edukasyon kasabay ang pagpapanatili ng kaligtasan ng mga estudyante.

MAYOR LANI HINIKAYAT ANG MGA TAGUIEÑO NA MANATILI SA PAGSUNOD SA HEALTH PROTOCOLS AT MAGPABAKUNA

“Ito ang epektibong proteksyon laban sa muling pagtaas ng mga kaso ng COVID-19 sa bansa”

 

Ramdam natin ang muling panunumbalik ng sigla at pagbubukas ng ekonomiya sa ating mga komunidad. Naging posible ito dahil sa inyong pakikiisa sa mga hakbang para malabanan ang Covid-19.

 

Dahil sa mabilis at mahusay na pagtugon ng ating Lungsod sa Pandemya, Naitala sa Taguig ang isa sa pinakamababang fatality rate at pinakamataas na recovery rate sa lahat ng lungsod sa Metro Manila.

 

Gayunpaman, kailangan nating pagtuunan ng pansin ang banta ng bagong Omicron subvariants BA.4 at BA.5. Kasalukuyang tumataas ang mga kaso nito sa bansa. Sa awa ng ating Panginoon, wala pang naitatalang kaso ng bagong subvariants sa Taguig. Minamatyagan nating mahigpit ang sitwasyon sa tulong ng ating mahuhusay na espesyalistang pangkalusugan.

 

Batay sa mga ulat, nananatiling nasa low risk ang ating lungsod ngunit makikita na tumataas na rin ang mga kaso ng COVID-19. Kasabay nito ang mababang bilang ng nagpapa-booster. 34% first booster

2% second booster.

 

Hinihikayat ko ang lahat na patuloy nating sundin ang tamang pagsusuot ng face mask, mag-isolate kung may nararamdamang sintomas ng COVID-19, at agad na magpatingin sa ating barangay health centers o ospital kung may sintomas o na-exposed sa nagpositibo sa COVID-19. Higit sa lahat, magpabakuna at magpa-booster shot kung kayo ay eligible na at hikayatin ang lahat ng nasa inyong komunidad na magpabakuna at magpa-booster laban sa COVID-19.

 

Tinuturo ng bibliya na kung ano ang ating itinanim, yan ang ating aanihin. Gusto nating anihin ang ligtas at matiwasay na pamumuhay at pagnenegosyo sa Lungsod ng Taguig. Kaya’t sama sama nating itanim sa ating puso at gawa ang mga tamang health protocols, bakuna, at boosters.

 

Sa mga susunod na buwan, ipakita natin ang pagmamahal at pagmamalasakit sa isa’t isa sa pamamagitan ng bayanihan, disiplina at pagiging mabuting ehemplo sa ating kapwa Taguigeño. Sa ating mahigpit na pag-iingat at pagsunod sa health protocols, pagpapabakuna at booster ay ating mapoprotektahan ang bawat isa sa anumang banta ng COVID-19.

 

Kami sa lokal na pamahalaan ay nangangakong paiigtingin pa ang pagsisikap na makamtan natin ang ating layunin na maging isang tunay na mapagmahal, mapagmalasakit, at malusog na lungsod.

TAGUIG INAUGURATES NEW HEALTH CENTER IN BRGY. LOWER BICUTAN

 

A new Super Health Center and 2 more health centers to open in the city

 

Taguig City opened a new health center in Barangay Lower Bicutan on Wednesday, May 4.

 

The new health center, equipped with air conditioning units, water supply, electrical supply, and generator sets, will give Taguigeños easier access to the City’s health-centric initiatives and programs more conveniently.

 

The Lower Bicutan Health Center will have different rooms designed for the various medical services such as Consultation Rooms, Treatment Rooms, Prenatal & Family Planning Rooms, Breastfeeding Rooms, Animal Bite Rooms will be available. A Doctor-on-Call office will also operate 24/7 to assist citizens with health-related concerns and inquiries at any given time of the day.

 

Aside from the ongoing COVID-19 curbing initiatives, the Taguig City Government continues to strive for quality and accessible health services which inlcude TB-Dots, free house-to-house delivery of medicines by Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), and many more.

 

Taguig gears it focus toward addressing other health-related concerns by also opening its fourth Super Health Center in Barangay Ligid-Tipas having laboratory to assess tests, Birthing Room, and Consultation & Examination Room among others.

 

Two more health centers are soon to open in Barangay Central Signal and Barangay Ibayo-Tipas with TB-DOTS area, Sputum Collection Area, Dental Clinic, Consultation Room, Animal Bite Room, and Pre-natal & Family Room.

 

“Taguig is active in providing Taguigeños the  health services they deserve and continues to expand its programs for everyone especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Mayor Lino Cayetano.

 

Just recently, the local government wrapped up its Taguig Healthcon 2022 which was a week-long event which served as a one-stop shop event for all health services being provided in Taguig.

 

Taguig City continues to prioritize the implementation of programs that improve the health and well-being of Taguigeños.

 

CITY CONTINUES TO CHAMPION HEALTHY AND SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY; CHALLENGES CITIZENS TO COMPLETE TAGUIG’S 25-KM MAIN BIKING LOOP & 32-KM MINI LOOPS

Taguig Bicycle Loop Challenge and Safe Streets to celebrate World Bicycle Day

 

To promote biking as an alternative mode of transportation in the City and to champion healthy and sustainable mobility, Taguig encouraged its citizens to participate in and complete the 25-km Taguig Bicycle Loop Challenge as part of the celebration of World Bicycle Day.

 

Through the said challenge, participants will be able to share their bike stories and experiences while they tour in the bike loops and lanes throughout the City.

 

Taguig’s Main Biking Loop is about 25-km long, starting from Taguig City Hall and stretching from BGC in Brgy. Fort Bonifacio up to Brgy. Upper Bicutan. The City has also created four (4) mini loops for novice bikers to accomplish: Arca-Lakeshore mini loop (8.68km), FTI-Bicutan mini loop (7.67km), Fort Bonifacio mini loop (6.75km), and the Cayetano-Venice mini loop (9.53km). This allows individuals to share their bicycle stories and experiences while touring the city’s bike loops and lanes.

 

Taguig boasts of being a bike-friendly city with over 60 km of established bike lanes on Cayetano Blvd, Bayani Road, and C-6 Road, among others. Taguig continues to promote cycling as an alternative method of transportation in the city, which advocates for healthy and sustainable mobility.

 

Aside from the Taguig Loop Challenge, there are free bike maintenance and free snack stations located along Cayetano Blvd., Bayani Road, and Cuasay MRT Road on June 3.

 

“The purpose of this event is to highlight bicycling as the city’s primary method of transportation and to encourage citizens who are interested in using bicycles for commuting, fitness, or recreation to now pedal their way through biking,” said Taguig Mobility Office Head Will Mariano.

 

The City will also host public group rides on June 4 at 3PM, beginning at Taguig City Hall and following the main biking loop. The Beginner’s Bike Trail along C6 in Lower Bicutan, the city’s first off-road bicycle trail with ramps, turns, and straights for all adventure-seeking bikers, will also be open to the public on June 4 and 5. Additionally, helmets are required, and mountain and gravel bikes are recommended on the track.

 

Taguig’s World Bicycle Day celebration will cap off with Safe Streets Taguig on June 5, Sunday, where educational activities including, bike repair lessons, its parts, proper ways of riding a bike, and basic hand signals will be available to the public.

 

The Safe Street program is under the Bike-Friendly Taguig ordinance, where a particular street in the City will be closed for a day to motorized vehicles, to create a safe place in the city where everyone can bike.

 

Taguig aims to continue making the city a safe and bike-friendly community. The City vows to continue championing healthy and sustainable living by creating more opportunities for Taguigeño cyclists.

TAGUIG CITY RECOGNIZED FOR HAVING ONE OF THE HIGHEST ACCOMPLISHMENT RATES ON NATIONAL VACCINATION DAYS

City thanks healthcare workers for hard work in vaccination efforts
The City Government of Taguig was recognized for having one of  the highest accomplishment rates among local government units during the Bayanihan Bakunahan IV: National Vaccination Days held last March 10-18, 2022.
The award, given by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) together with other national government agencies in the National Task Force COVID-19, was formally received by Taguig City Health Office head Dra. Norena Osano, in SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City on Tuesday, March 22.
In his recent speech, Mayor Lino Cayetano attributed this feat to the city’s hardworking healthcare workers.
“It has always been our health workers who put their health at risk and try their very best to save lives. We thank them for their hard work and sacrifices,” he said.
As of March 21, a total of 832,839 individuals have already been fully vaccinated in the City of Taguig, translating to 94% of the DOH’s projected population of the City for 2022.
Taguig vows to remain aggressive in its disease surveillance and vaccination efforts despite the downward trend in cases of COVID-19 in the City.
