Disaster Preparedness Training at Pinagsama Phase 2 Covered Court
The City Government of Taguig, in partnership with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), conducted a Disaster Preparedness Training at the Pinagsama Phase 2 Covered Court last June 04
Mayor Lani Cayetano has decided to make the holding of earthquake drills regular in city schools and other establishments, public and private, to familiarize the constituents on what to do in the event a real earthquake happens in Metro Manila.
The Mayor pointed out that regular holding of earthquake drills will be a great help in instituting calm and confidence among Taguigeños. She said that when the real disaster strikes people will be ready, prepared and knowledgeable of what actions they need to do.
The event also presented the Mobile Earthquake Simulator to familiarize the public on the various intensity of earthquakes.
The activity was joined by officials from the 12 barangays that are reportedly situated over the West Valley Fault, students, and faculty members from Kapitan Eddie Reyes Memorial Elementary School, City Transport Groups, and City Rescue Officers.
Joining Mayor Lani in the event were MMDA Chairman Atty. Francis Tolentino, MMDA General Manager Under Secretary . Corazon Jimenez, Vice Mayor Ricardo “Ading” Cruz Jr., members of the City Council, KERMES-Main Principal Dr. Joselito Mataac, Barangay Officials, DepEd TaPat Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Danilo Gutierrez, and members of the media who covered the event.
