English Access Microscholarship Program at SVNHS
Students from Signal Village National High School (SVNHS) became part of the English Access Microscholarship Program when it was launched last September 17, 2015 at said school grounds.
The English Access Microscholarship Program (Access Program) is among the educational initiative of the U.S. Department of State. This training program is designed to provide significant English-language learning experience to exemplary students aged 14- to 18- year-old.
Funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, it aims to improve students’ appreciation of American culture and values; encourage critical thinking and open-mindedness; and improve performance in regular school classes.
Launched in 2004, the Access Program is being conducted worldwide. In attendance during the event were Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano, Taguig City Economic Investment Promotion Officer Jorge Bocobo, DepEd-TAPAT Administrator Dr. George Tizon, officials from the Access Program, and officials and faculty members of SVNHS.
