Flag Raising Ceremony (06-22-2015)
The DepEd Division of Taguig-Pateros and the City Government of Taguig commended the working committees who contributed to the successful staging of the 2015 National Schools Press Conference during the flagraising ceremony hosted by the Public Employment Service Office last June 22 at the Taguig City Hall Grounds.
A plaque of appreciation was given to Taguig City Administrator Jose Luis Montales; Mr. Kim Pautin, head of the Public Order and Safety Office (POSO); Mr. Dexter Santos from the Office of the Mayor; and Mr. Elmer Pagsisihan, head of the General Services Office (GSO).
Considered the most prestigious competition in campus journalism, the Taguig City Government led by Mayor Lani Cayetano hosted the competition participated by 5,000 campus journalists and their advisers from April 6 to 10.
This marks the first time in two decades that NSPC was held in NCR, and Taguig City was chosen to host it because of its remarkable achievements and pioneering programs in education.
Mayor Lani’s administration has been investing largely to improve the education system in the city. Students from daycare to high school have been provided with free uniforms, shoes, bags and school supplies. Schools have been provided with air-conditioning units, now dubbed as “Taguig Cool Schools”.
Last year, the DepEd Taguig and Pateros emerged as top among school divisions in the DepEd National Capital Region (NCR) Cluster 1 (Big Division) in the 2014 National Achievement Test (NAT).
