The observance of All Saints Day in Taguig City will have round-the-clock security, medical services and traffic assistance in all of the cemeteries on November 1 as the city government maps out the security arrangements during the annual holiday.

With thousands of people expected to flock cemeteries to visit their departed ones, preparations are underway to ensure that no untoward incident occurs come Undas.

“We want to make this commemoration and tradition as comfortable and safe as possible and we will make sure that all medical emergencies will be responded to on time,” said Mayor Lani Cayetano, adding that several offices within the local government and the Taguig Police had collaborated to secure and provide the necessary assistance to nine cemeteries within the city.

According to Evelyn Arago, City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) head, they will be securing nine cemeteries all-over the city.

These are:

  • Bagumbayan Cemetery
  • Hagonoy Cemetery
  • Tuktukan Cemetery
  • Ligid Catholic Cemetery
  • Aglipay Cemetery
  • Libingan ng mga Bayani
  • Garden of Memories
  • Maharlika Cemetery

Moreover, helpdesks and first-aid tents will be strategically placed in all of the cemeteries in order to address any concern or respond to any medical emergencies.

The local government also has ensured that all areas in all of the cemeteries and all streets leading to them are well-lit.

Personnel from the Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) and the Taguig-PNP will be deployed to the cemeteries starting October 31 to secure the areas.

There will also be Motorists Assistance Centers along C-5 road manned by members of the Traffic Management Office (TMO), Taguig Rescue, POSO and Taguig-PNP.

The TMO will also be present to manage the traffic of vehicles expected to congest the roads near cemeteries.

Liquor, deadly weapons not allowed

Meanwhile, Mayor Lani warned citizens that liquor and deadly weapons are strictly prohibited in cemeteries on November 1.

“I encourage everyone to abide by the law. We will strictly enforce this prohibition and all those who will violate will be dealt with accordingly,” she said. ###

Pagsapit pa lamang ng October 31, ipapapakalat na ang mga tauhan ng Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) at Taguig-PNP para mangalaga sa seguridad.
