Mutya ng Taguig 2013 set to wow city residents

The beauty, brains and magnetic personality of the Taguigeña is set to take center stage in the coming days as the Mutya ng Taguig 2013 beauty pageant officially kicks off.

And as proof of Taguig City’s pioneering spirit, the Grand Coronation night of the pageant on Saturday, April 27, will be streamed live over the internet via the “e-Mutya” program and can be viewed through the Facebook page of “I love Taguig” (www.facebook.com/taguigcity).

“This year, we expect even more Taguigeños to take part in the festivities as the Grand Coronation Night of Mutya ng Taguig would be streamed live on the city’s Facebook page,” Mayor Lani Cayetano said.

“As one of the main attractions of Taguig’s 426th Founding Anniversary, the Mutya ng Taguig 2013 will be made even more accessible to those who want to be awed by the beauty and brains of women this side of Metro Manila,” Mayor Lani added.

The historic pageant, considered as one of the highlights of this year’s 426th Founding Anniversary of Taguig, will be participated in by 27 of the finest young women from all four corners of the culturally rich and colorful city.

Mayor Lani finds it an honor for the city to host an event that extols not only what can be seen by its appearance but the Taguigeña’s inner beauty as well, like her strengths, her ideals and dreams.

“The Mutya ng Taguig showcases the complete woman—confident of her own beauty and self-worth. Moreover, she represents Taguig to the best of her abilities and is a responsible citizen,” the local chief executive said.

The beautiful candidates have already wowed city residents during the pre-pageant night last April 20 at the Taguig City University (TCU) Auditorium. The pre-pageant night was described to be glamorous as the ladies vied for awards in the swimsuit and long gown competitions as well as the talent portion.

Winners of the pre-pageant night will be announced during the Grand Coronation Night   which will be held at the barangay hall grounds of Lower Bicutan.

Under the Cayetano administration, the Grand Coronation Night of Mutya ng Taguig has turned into a must-see event that attracts a crowd of thousands, particularly members of the community.

In order to view the e-Mutya, Taguig IT department head John Rudolph Villegas said all residents have to do is to click the “like” button on the “I love Taguig” FB page and they will gain access to the live streaming of the event.

Earlier, the city government also conducted live-streaming of all of the graduations of Taguig’s public elementary and high schools. Even the Junior-Senior Prom of the students was covered and shown live over Facebook.

“Sa taong ito, makaaasa ang mga Taguigueno na magiging bahagi sila sa pagdiriwang dahil mapapanood ang koronasyon ng Mutya ng Taguig sa Facebook page ng lungsod,” pahayag ni Mayor Lani Cayetano.

“Bilang isa sa mga pangunahing atraksyon ng pagdiriwang ng ika-426 na Founding Anniversary ng Taguig, ang Mutya ng Taguig 2013 ay maaaring mapanood ng mga magnanais mapahanga sa ganda at talino ng kababaihan sa bahaging ito ng Kalakhang Maynila,” dagdag pa ni Mayor Lani.

Ang makasaysayang patimpalak na itinuturing na pinakatampok sa 426th Founding Anniversary ng Taguig ay nilahukan ng 27 nagagandahang dilag mula sa iba’t ibang lugar ng lungsod.

Isang karangalan para kay Mayor Lani na itaguyod ang patimpalak na magpapakita hindi lamang ng panlabas na kagandahan ng mga Taguiguena kundi ng kanilang kalooban, kaisipan at paniniwala.

“Ipinapakita sa Mutya ng Taguig ang isang kumpletong babae – may tiwala sa angkin niyang kagandahan at may pagpapahalaga sa kanyang sarili. Higit pa rito, siya ang kakatawan sa Taguig sa abot ng kanyang kakayahan,” wika pa ng punong lungsod.

Napahanga na ng naggagandahang kandidata ang publiko sa isinagawang pre-pageant night noong April 20 sa Taguig City University (TCU) Auditorium. Nagtagisan sa pagandahan ang mga kandidata suot ang kanilang swimsuit at long gown at sa pagalingan ng kanilang mga talento.

Ang mga nagwagi sa pre-pageant night ay iaanunsyo sa Grand Coronation Night na itatanghal sa barangay hall grounds ng Lower Bicutan.

Sa ilalim ng Cayetano administration, ang Grand Coronation Night ay tunay na kaabang-abang na dinadaluhan ng libu-libong tao.

Para mapanood ang e-Mutya, sinabi ng hepe ng Taguig IT Department na si John Rudolph Villegas na ang kailangang gawin ay i-like ang FB page “I love Taguig.”

Una rito ay napanood din ng live ang lahat ng graduation ceremony ng mga pampublikong paaralan sa Taguig. Ganito rin ang nangyari sa Junior-Senior Prom ng mga estudyante kung saan napanood ito ng live sa Facebook.
