National Breast Cancer Awareness Month


National Breast Cancer Awareness MonthThe city government of Taguig celebrated the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month with the Lay Forum and Free Breast & Cervical Cancer Screening Exam held last October 27 at the Senator Renato “Compañero” Cayetano Memorial Science and Technology High School Auditorium.

The event was organized to promote early detection of breast cancer to the women of Taguig and teach them holistic breast cancer detection techniques.

About 400 participants were given free breast cancer screening and assessment by medical professionals.

During the event, Mayor Lani Cayetano announced its plan to construct a “Pink Building” that will contain all laboratory equipment that will cater to the medical needs of the Taguigeñas.

Present in the event were Committee Chairman in Health and City Councilor Rodil “Tikboy” Marcelino, Representatives from the Taguig-Pateros District Hospital headed by TPDH Chief of Clinics Dr. Anna Richie A. Quilatan together with officers from the City Health Office.
