Taguig City offers Home Service Vaccinations

City Government deploys doctors and nurses to give bedridden residents safe access to vaccines

The Taguig City Government is further expanding its reach in immunizing all its residents as it deploys doctors and nurses for the inoculation of bedridden residents for its Home Service Vaccination program.

Taguig City’s Home Service Vaccination which commenced on Monday, April 19, aims to ensure that bedridden persons who may also be senior citizens or have underlying medical conditions will have equal access to the vaccines and are inoculated safely.

Taguig City’s Head of Immunization Dr. Jennifer Lou De Guzman and Supervisor of SM Aura Vaccination Hub Dr. Regie Santos visited the city’s patients for home service vaccination and administered their first dose of vaccines against COVID-19.

The process follows the same streamlined strategy as the on-site vaccination centers that involves screening and counselling, vaccination, and post-vaccination monitoring.

Residents wishing to request for a home service vaccination for their bedridden family members

may call the designated telephone numbers of Taguig Telemedicine in the 31 barangay health centers as well as the city’s COVID-19 Hotline.

As the City Government follows the system of prioritization, it has deliberately taken into consideration the accessibility of vaccines to all residents, especially the vulnerable sector.

“In Taguig City, working diligently and deliberately is important, especially in the event of a health crisis. We must ensure that there are more locations and safer ways for residents, especially the vulnerable sector, to have access to the vaccine.”  said Mayor Lino Cayetano.

As of April 18, 2021, Taguig City has already vaccinated a total of 23,146 citizens: A1 (Health Workers) – 9,564; A2 (Senior Citizens) -7,020; and A3 (Non-senior with comorbidities) -6,562. 1,112 of the 9,654 vaccinated frontliners already received their 2nd dose.
