Taguig City opens its 6th and 7th vaccination sites in Western Bicutan and SM Aura

1st vaccination hub in BGC expected to boost vaccination rollout

The local government of Taguig extends its vaccination rollout as the city opened the 4th Community Vaccine Center in Western Bicutan National High School in Barangay Western Bicutan and the 3rd Mega Vaccination Hub in Samsung Hall, SM Aura in BGC Taguig on April 13 and 14, 2021 respectively.

The opening of these vaccination sites will complement the existing two (2) Mega Vaccination Hubs at the Lakeshore area and Vista Mall Parking Building, as well as the three (3) Community Vaccine Centers at RP Cruz Elementary School, Maharlika Elementary School, and EM’s Signal Village Elementary School. By opening these new vaccination sites, the city expects a boost in its vaccination rollout.

Taguig City continues its vaccination rollout to all health workers, senior citizens, and persons with comorbidities. The local government assures that the vaccination process is guided with strict compliance and protocols especially to the vulnerable sectors.

“The city continues to vaccinate those who are in categories A1, A2, at A3. We prioritize them because they are the most vulnerable sector. These are the most vulnerable sectors that if infected, there are high chances that they will experience severe symptoms,” said, Mayor Lino Cayetano, in his recent weekly report.

As of April 12, 2021, Taguig City has already vaccinated a total of 17,375 citizens: A1 (Health Workers) – 9,445; A2 (Senior Citizens) – 3,503; and A3 (Non-senior with comorbidities) – 4,427. 926 of the 9,445 vaccinated frontliners already received their 2nd dose.

While the city is dedicated to inoculate all its residents, the vaccine supply is currently dependent on the national government. However, a supply of AstraZeneca, Covovax, Covaxin, and Moderna is expected to be distributed by the third quarter of this year.

Taguig also prepares to open the vaccination hubs even on weekends and holidays to boost inoculation and immunize residents as soon as possible since the virus still infects whenever and wherever.

Residents are highly encouraged to enroll in Taguig TRACE to secure their vaccine registration, as this is a part of the city government’s streamlined vaccination process. Visit the I Love Taguig Facebook Page for more information on how to register to TRACE.

Aside from vaccinating its residents, the local government of Taguig is also distributing stay-at-home food packs since the first day of the implementation of ECQ, as well as emergency relief assistance for the qualified beneficiaries of the Social Amelioration Program.
