Taguig, Manila Water complete ‘years of hard work’ on pipe project
New reservoir improves water services to 7 barangays
The Manila Water, in close partnership with the local government of Taguig, recently unveiled a 10-million liter capacity reservoir in Barangay Hagonoy that is seen to enhance water distribution services to at least seven barangays of the city, and ensuring increased water pressure on tap 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Both the Taguig City government and the Manila Water described the Capistrano Water System as a product of years of hard work and close collaboration, with a single objective of providing city resident families the services they deserve, especially when it comes to water distribution.
Mayor Lani Cayetano said she was grateful to the water company for helping the city improve services it delivers to its people, especially involving something as basic as clean, running water.
“We are certain many families will be happy to learn that water services are improved. This is really a great feat for us and our partner in this endeavor, the Manila Water,” Mayor Lani said.
Manila Water East Zone Business Operations Group Director Ferdinand Dela Cruz is just as elated, saying, “It took us years to complete this project. We faced several challenges, but with the help of the City Hall administration, led by Mayor Lani Cayetano, we are now able to fulfill our service obligations to the residents of Taguig City.”
The Capistrano Water System aims to ease the load carried by the Fort Bonifacio and Department of Science and Technology (DOST) pumping stations, and will primarily benefit seven barangays in the city: Bagong Tanyag, Bagumbayan, South Daang Hari, North Daang Hari, Central Bicutan, Lower Bicutan, and Upper Bicutan.
A 2.9-kilometer pipe was installed along East Service Taguig to Parañaque City, while a 5-kilometer pipeline was laid along C-6 road and Gen. Santos Avenue.
“We are very glad to work with Manila Water towards the completion of this project. With the new water system, around 15,000 water service connections in the city will be improved,” Mayor Lani said.
Ikinatuwa rin ni Manila Water East Zone Business Operations Group Director Ferdinand Dela Cruz ang proyekto, ““It took us years to complete this project. We faced several challenges, but with the help of the City Hall administration, led by Mayor Lani Cayetano, we are now able to fulfill our service obligations to the residents of Taguig City.”
