Taguig pays tribute to its retiring and model employees

Outstanding and exemplary public service

The local government of Taguig paid tribute to its retiring government employees during the “Salamat, Paalam” program on December 19 at the Lakeshore Hall, C6 Lower Bicutan. On the same occasion, the City also launched the “Parangal sa mga Lingkod Bayan ng Taguig” program that recognizes its most outstanding employees.

Organized by the Human Resources Management Office, the event was held to extend the local government’s heartfelt gratitude and utmost appreciation to these employees for consistently providing excellent and reliable service to the Taguigeños.

“This day is doubly special as we are recognizing our outstanding employees and likewise honoring our retiring employees. By holding these two events together, we are demonstrating continuity in public service; one batch is leaving a lifetime of work while another is continuing it with passion and dedication,” said Taguig City Administrator Atty. Jose Luis G. Montales.

The 10 retiring employees, who were given tribute for dedicating their career to public service, include Imelda Geronimo, Erlinda Lumitao, Dr. Isaias Ramos, Noel Aquino, Carlos Goreyab, Florinda Salalima, Francisco Landrito, Ricardo Batobato, Celestino Roldan, and Rolando Estanislao.

Meanwhile, Wenifredo Agrigar from the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), Benjamin Cayanan from the Public Order and Safety Office (POSO), Arnel John Magracia from the Human Resources Management Office and Julita Bernabe from the City Health Office – Nutrition Office were cited for the 2016 “Parangal sa mga Lingkod Bayan ng Taguig” their outstanding service to the city and its people.

Mayor Lani Cayetano stressed how the city government will always be grateful to its personnel as they play an important part in the achievements the City of Taguig has obtained for the past years.

“To all our hardworking city employees, again, I am extending my heartfelt and never ending gratitude to all of you and I hope that the Lord will bless you a healthy and bountiful life. I also hope that Lord will continue to use you as an instrument to serve the public in any other ways,” the lady mayor added.

To honor their valuable contribution and hard work, the local government gave a plaque, cash incentives, and token of appreciation for the 10 retirees while the four (4) model employees of the year received cash incentives and a Certificate of Appreciation.

“On behalf of my fellow retirees for the year of 2016, we are very grateful to the local government of Taguig for recognizing all our hard work and honoring the importance of all the services that we have provided to the City of Taguig,” said Dr. Isaias Ramos, the outgoing Officer in charge for the City Health Office. He assured that their assistance to the public will continue even after they retire from their post.

Mayor Lani wished the retiring employees an exciting and bountiful life together with their families in the next chapter of their lives.  “I hope that you will enjoy your time to go back and focus on your families whom in truth, we sometimes, set aside due to the demands of our work in the public service; I really hope that the next few months would be a great opportunity to spend time with them. It is your time to give back the lost time that was spent to your work and now focus on your families,” she added. ###

Jose Luis G. Montales.
