Taguig provides shelter and meals, financial aid to Maharlika fire victims


The local government of Taguig is providing hot meals and temporary shelter to victims of a fire that left 94 families displaced and razed 72 houses at Maharlika Village, last night.

Mayor Lani Cayetano extended her deepest sympathy to the victims saying that they are welcome to stay at the shelter provided by the city.

“We express our deepest sympathy for the loss of more than 400 residents of Maharlika Village. We, in the local government are doing our best to provide the needs of the families victimized by this disaster,” the local executive said.

Luz Cleofas of the City Social Welfare and Development said that financial aid to the families will be given as soon as they identify dwellers of the houses affected by the fire.###
