Taguig Tracking Device System (TTDS) Launched

The Taguig City Government has put in place its so-called Taguig Tracking Device System (TTDS) which is sure to further its reputation as the most business-friendly local government unit (LGU) in Metro Manila.

Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano said that the TTDS-a meticulous system that ensures efficient flow of transactions at the city hall-was set up after the conduct of thorough consultation with investors and taxpayers in the City of Taguig.

“Putting up the system shows that we are serious in eradicating red tape and under the-table transactions. I would like to show the people that I am truly sincere in implementing this reform,” the 29-local-years-old chief executive said.

Under the TTDSS, a document or transaction is tracked online from start to finish-a system that was borrowed from, and proven effective, in Malaybalay City, and now being improved for the first time in the National Capital Region (NCR).

Mayor Cayetano said that the step-by-step scheme has been tweaked to better suit the needs of a Global City like Taguig where transactions and release of documents must be efficient and fast-paced For example, a transaction would not be proceed or accepted at the first counter unless all necessary requirements have been executed by the concerned individual.

Also, business proprietors, investors and tax payers who are having their papers processed are alerted of delays once their transactions get held up for one reason or another.

“For those that are complete, it will go through smoothly in every office as each station has a specific time allocation to act on the transaction otherwise the system will send out an alert for delayed processing,” the mayor said. For the constituents’ convenience, the TTDS details the projected amount of time that they should spend a particular counter or step before the delayed is signaled.

Meanwhile, the young mayor vowed that Taguig would continue to boast a business-friendly environment and at the same attract additional investment through these improvements.

“We assure our investors that we are ready to meet their demands and we will make it easier for them to put up and maintain their business in our city. We believe that getting rid of the red tape will attract continued investment,” she said.
