Taguig welcomes 97 additional law enforcers

Police visibility bolstered

recognition of newly assigned policemenThe Taguig local government has recently welcomed the arrival of nearly a hundred new police officers in the city, reinforcing its advocacy to promote peace and order.

Mayor Lani Cayetano expressed gratitude for the additional law enforcers, as she assured the constituents that the 97 new policemen will improve the police visibility in the city.

Mayor Lani said they would be distributed to the 28 barangays of the city.

“With this improvement in our security force, our constituents and even the city’s stakeholders will feel more confident, safer, and secure inside or outside their premises,” she said.

Taguig City Chief of Police Senior Superintendent Arthur Felix Asis, for his part, said the additional policemen would help in addressing the low police-population ratio in the city which is currently at one is to 2,700, whereas the ideal is one is to 500.

“We recognize the problem of the insufficient manpower in our security force. Working together with the local government, we are maximizing the resources available to ensure that our constituents will feel safe and secure,” the chief of police said.

“With the additional personnel, we will prioritize the distribution to those barangays with less police force,” he added.

Meanwhile, Mayor Lani feels confident that “these men and women in uniform will make a good impact in the city’s security force” thus giving the barangays a chance to maximize their workforce and efforts for safety.

“Our goal is to be a premier city. To accomplish it, we should improve our security force in all aspects,” the local chief executive said. ###

FILIPINO VERSION:

Taguig, may 97 bagong pulis
