TCU graduate lands 8th place in 2017 Criminologist Board Examination

“Papa! Mama! Nakapasa po ako!”

Twenty-year-old James Vincent P. Condada is now one step closer to his dream of becoming a policeman after ranking eighth place in the 2017 criminologist board examination.

At first, the son of a security guard and of a staff member of the civil security unit had a hard time believing he had clinched a top spot in the grueling exam.

“I even asked someone to verify if the news was true,” James, the second to the eldest of five siblings, said.

While recognizing that hard work despite the hardships was key, James also attributes his accomplishment to the free quality education he said he received from the Taguig City University.

“Through (TCU), teenagers with financial difficulties are able to make their dreams reality,” he said.

Such is the quality education of the city’s learning institution that Condada is actually not its only graduate who passed the board exam.

On January 12, Sunday, the 174 lives of TCU graduates were one step closer to their dream of becoming men and women in uniform.

TCU’s passing rate is at 57.05 percent, compared to the national passing average of only 35.68 percent.

“Continue to pursue your dreams,” Taguig City University’s College of Criminal Justice’s Program Chair Prof. Renel P. Cruz said. According to Cruz, students who do their part should not worry, as the city government is  right behind them, assisting them in any way they can so they can reach their dreams.

In fact, he said that TCU students were not the only ones being assisted by the local government. Elementary and high school students from the 36 public schools in the city also receive free school supplies before the start of each school year.

Last year, there was also an increase in the allowances of scholars under the city’s scholarship programs — Lifeline Assistance for Neighbors In-need (LANI) and Taguig Learners’ Certificate (TLC).

Because of its big investment in education, Taguig City claimed the top spot in the National Achievement Test (NAT) for the elementary and high school levels for two consecutive years, in 2014 and 2015.

In 2014, Taguig also ranked first in the Big Schools Cluster while in 2015, the city was the overall No. 1, both in the Grade 6 and 4th-year levels, in the National Capital Region.

“Hard work and perseverance pay off, I assure you. That and help from your loved ones, your government who only want what’s best for you,” Cruz said. ###

Ito ang masayang balita na inilahad ni James Vincent P. Condada, 20, sa kanyang mga magulang na katuwang niya na makamit ang pangarap na maging isang pulis.

Ito ay matapos makapasa at maging Top 8 sa ginanap na 2017 Criminologist Board Examination.

Sa una ay hindi makapaniwala si James na makapasok sa Top 10 subalit naisakatuparan niya ito. Si James ay anak ng isang security guard at isang empleyado ng civil security unit.

“Noong una di pa ako makapaniwala. Nagtanong pa ulit ako kung totoo ang balita,” wika ni James, pangalawang anak sa limang magkakapatid.

Sa kabila ng pagkilala niya sa kasipagan at pagtitiyaga sa likod ng tagumpay, binigyan din ni James ng importansya ang libre at dekalidad na edukasyon na kanyang nakuha mula sa Taguig City University (TCU).

“Dahil sa TCU, ang mga estudyanteng katulad ko na galing sa pamilyang kapos sa pera ay nabibigyan ng katuparan ang mga pangarap,” saad pa ni James.

Sa mataas na kalidad ng edukasyon na ibinibigay ng Taguig sa mga Taguigeño, hindi lamang si James ang nabibigyan ng pagkakataon na maabot ang pangarap na makatapos at makahanap ng maayos na trabaho kundi ang marami pang mga graduate.

Noong January 12, Linggo, ang mahigit na 174 TCU graduates ay nabigyan ng pagkakataon na makamit ang pangarap na masali sa mga uniformed personnel.

Ang passing rate ng TCU ay may porsyento na 57.05, mas mataas kumpara sa national passing average na 35.68.

“Ipagpatuloy ninyo na abutin ang pangarap,” sabi naman ni TCU College of Criminal Justice’s Program Chair Prof. Renel P. Cruz.

Dagdag pa ni Cruz, ang mga estudyante na ginagampanan nang maayos ang kanilang tungkulin bilang mag-aaral ay hindi na dapat magambala dahil ang narito ang lokal na pamahalaan ng Taguig na aagapay sa kanila na marating ang pangarap.

Sa kabila nito, hindi lamang ang TCU ang natutulungan ng Taguig City government kundi ang pati na rin ang mga estudyante sa elementary at high school mula sa 36 public schools sa Lungsod, na patuloy na nakatatanggap ng libreng high school supplies bago magsimula ang bawat school year.

Noong nakaraang taon, itinaas na rin ng Taguig government ang allowance ng mga scholars sa ilalim ng scholarship program na Lifeline Assistance for Neighbors In-need (LANI) at ng Taguig Learners’ Certificate (TLC).

“Ang pagsisikap at pagti-tiyaga ay may magandang resulta. Nakakasiguro ako diyan. Patuloy ang tulong ng Taguig City government sa inyong mga mag-aaral, kasama ninyo kami pati na ang mga mahal ninyo sa buhay na aalalay sa mahal nating estudyante,” dagdag pa ni Cruz. ###
